Tearfund Canada is on the front lines, providing relief and development (R&D) assistance to the poorest of the poor around the world. Unlike many R&D organizations, Tearfund does not establish itself as an organization in the countries in which we are active. Instead, we work with and through local networks, ensuring that local leaders are made partners in meeting local needs. Project funding goes directly from Tearfund to church-administered projects, empowering people on the ground, promoting dignity and strengthening partnerships between Tearfund, its supporters, and people who receive assistance. Tearfund Canada’s mission is to respond to the relief and development needs of the world’s poor in the name of Jesus Christ, through our global network of Christian organizations, in partnership with Canadian and overseas Churches.
