Lead Pastor
Lakehead Baptist Church, a vibrant, Christ-centered, congregation-led church that meets in Thunder Bay Ontario, is seeking a Lead Pastor. Our longstanding Pastor will be retiring as of June 1, 2025, and ideally, we would like the vacancy filled by that date. We are looking for a relational pastor who loves God and cares for followers of Christ deeply.
LBC is part of the Baptist General Conference, a movement of over 100 Canadian Churches meeting across Canada. The mission of the Baptist General Conference is to build a network of churches that make disciples who live and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in their communities, Canada and the Nations.

Thunder Bay is located on the northwest shore of Lake Superior around the largest inland port in Canada. Across the bay itself is the beautiful and majestic Sleeping Giant. Serving as the metropolitan and services hub of Northwestern Ontario, Thunder Bay is home to over 113,000 people.

Lakehead Baptist Church is situated near the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as well as the Lakehead University Campus. We have an average Sunday attendance of 120 from all ages.

We value and encourage evangelism efforts individually and collectively through various outreach initiatives. We invite people to engage in different ministries within the church and in the community. Through bible studies, youth group activities and home small groups, we encourage congregants in discipleship and growth in their faith.
We endeavour to have a contemporary worship style with a blend of traditional hymns and current worship songs.
Requirements:
A personal and enthusiastic relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord
Calling from God into fulltime ministry
A consistent spiritual walk outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9
A graduate degree or higher from seminary
Accepts and agrees to the Baptist General Conference statement of faith
General Job Description:
Shepherd the congregation providing visionary and spiritual leadership
Report to the Elders and Deacons board who represent the congregation
Fulfill pulpit ministries – preaching and teaching on Sundays and other special worship services
Oversee small groups and pastoral care for our church and community
Develop and disciple lay ministry leaders

Salary range: $60,000 + (commensurate with experience)
