Cedar Grove Church is seeking a Manager for the Cedar Grove Childcare Centre Ministry. This role is for a fully committed follower of Jesus Christ who is ministry-minded and a dedicated Early Childhood Educator. This position requires someone with team leadership skills who is excited about working in a workplace where they can positively impact a child’s future! The Centre needs an organized self-starter, able to meet deadlines, accommodate changing demands and provide a high level of warm, friendly and encouraging service to the Childcare Centre parents and staff and provide love and focused attention to the Centre’s children. This is a permanent full-time position to start in September.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision, guidance, and strategic leadership to a staff team of 14 other staff

  • Read, understand and follow all Provincial requirements and standards and ensure the Staff team is proficient in meeting and maintaining them

  • Ensure all Church Policies & Procedures are met and maintained

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating activities and experiences for individual and group needs of all children within a consistent child centered program environment

  • Guiding and Caring for a group of 80+ children; infant to age 12

  • Establish and maintain positive daily communication and relationships with parents and children

  • Ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained as per licensing requirements

  • Daily & Monthly administrative duties such as record keeping, attendance, financial reports etc. maintained by using word, excel and government online systems

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the Center, the children, their families, and staff

  • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and to be appropriately dressed

Salary:

$24 - $28 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Hours of work are flexible

License/Certification:

  • Must have ECE, ECEA or equivalent Courses/Degree/Certificate in child growth and development. Infant Toddler and Responsible Adult Certification a benefit

  • Must have some management/supervisory experience in an inclusive child care setting

  • Experience working with children in a licensed group child care setting

  • A Criminal Record Check

  • Children’s First Aid certificate required

Other important considerations:

  • This position would require that the individual be in doctrinal alignment with Cedar Grove Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith

  • This position would also require that they would attend Cedar Grove Baptist Church services weekly and become a covenant member within six (6) months of hire
