Credentialing is a process by which our Conference honours, affirms and expresses confidence in their pastors. It is also a means for pastors to testify their commitment to the faith and values that bind us together as a Conference.

Benefits of Being Credentialed

The Credentialing Program sets a standard within BGCC and is an attempt to assist our churches in their search for qualified pastoral or ministerial leadership. This process also presents some continuity in the criteria for selecting, calling, licensing and then ordaining people for ministry.

If you are already Credentialed, we still require you to sign with good conscience annually the Affirmation of Faith and the Pastoral Code of Ethics.

requirements:

Please contact the BGC Canada office for further details. If you have trouble saving a filled PDF form, here are some tips.

To Apply:

Please speak with your District Ministers/Coaches if you desire to be credentialed.

Licensing:

Upon completion of fulfillment of the Credentialing requirements, the BGC Canada National office will notify your District to request that the Province to issue the appropriate license. Each Province has its own laws and procedures, which govern the privilege to perform marriages. Only the District office of the Conference can request that a license be issued.

Ordination:

For the local church, ordination is the setting apart a servant of God for full time pastoral or missionary related ministry. In our tradition, ordination is rooted in the local church and recognized by the denomination. It usually involves an examination done by an ordination council and an ordination service to follow approval by the council. Please see the document entitled, Ordaining Your Pastor for more information on BGC Canada's suggested Ordination Process.
