Over 1500 adults consider GMBC to be their home church. GMBC is known for its emphasis on teaching the Scriptures and diverse ministry engagement opportunities. 

 

Job Summary:      

Grant Memorial Baptist Church exists to help people find and follow Jesus. The primary responsibility of the Coordinator of Pastoral Care is to provide pastoral care and counselling, leadership of Stephen Ministry, and funeral/wedding officiating roles. The position requires pastoral training, and a commitment to following Christ with devotion and zeal. The outcomes are achieved by acknowledging the mandate from the Bible to equip others to do the work of the ministry. This includes training, personal example and the development and empowerment of leaders and ministry personnel. The role of Coordinator of Pastoral Care encourages and contributes to the outcome of care in the Grant Memorial community. This position reports to the Executive Pastor.

 

Time Requirements: 18.75 hour/week, .50 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

General office hours are 8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday. This position requires flexibility in time commitments. Wednesday and Thursday are considered the usual office hours.

Director of Youth Ministries

Director of Youth Ministries, Grant Memorial Church:       

The Director of Youth Ministries is responsible for the direction, oversight, spiritual care and discipleship of students connected to the Grant Memorial Baptist Church student ministries from grades 6-12 and embraces an approach to ministry that partners with parents and families for effective discipleship. The role includes strategic planning and ministry implementation to reach students who are not yet followers of Christ and discipleship of existing believers. The director works as a member of the senior staff to achieve the vision of the church. The position requires supervising paid staff and volunteers.

District Minister

The BGCS is a district of the Baptist General Conference of Canada, comprising of an association of like-minded churches across Saskatchewan.  We are currently in need of a District Minister to champion and nurture health and growth among our churches.  With 13 churches of varying sizes and health in Saskatchewan, the key roles of the District Minister will be to: a) assist churches in becoming healthy, sustainable and disciple producing: and b) facilitate a common purpose and mutual support among the churches in the district.

The position will be a minimum half time position with the possibility of additional affiliative work.

Youth Pastor
Gateway Community Church (Hinton, AB)

Gateway Community Church is affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada.  We are located in Hinton, Alberta.  A town of around 10,000 surrounded by forest and within twenty minutes of Jasper National Park and the Rocky Mountains.  Primary employers are Forestry, Gas and Coal.  The church ministers to about 300 persons with an average attendance of about 110.  The youth ministry deals with a great mix of individuals and families, some Christian, some with Church history and some with neither.
